Products that can helpMacular Degeneration Inflammation Type III Diabetes | Basic ConsiderationsAs stated in my main discussion of Diabetes, the first step in the nutritional support of an individual with blood sugar problems is to exceed all of the daily nutritional requirements for a person of his or her age. Certain nutritional supplements are then added or increased in order to correct the problems and complications associated with abnormal glucose metabolism. High levels of Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) and anti oxidants are very important. At a minimum use Ultra DM Complex (for alpha lipoic acid), Vitamins C and E, plus Coenzyme Q10 to protect the cells from peroxidation.Persons with blood sugar problems often suffer the additional complications of Diabetic Retinopathy, Diabetic Neuropathy, Diabetic Nephropahty or Atherosclerosis. I recommend Ultra Vites, with its high level of B Vitamins and Ultra Omega Linic, critically important preformed essential fatty acids, as the minimum daily nutritional supplementation for these conditions. I formulated Ultra DM Complex with alpha lipoic acid, cinnamon and GTF Chromium to help normalize blood sugar levels and metabolism. If there is a need for pain relief, NSAIDs and Tylenol should NOT be used. Persons with blood sugar problems are particularly susceptible to side effects caused by these drugs. Ultra Omega Linic and Yucca are good alternatives. Persons suffering any of the complications of Diabetes are at particular risk of damage from free radical activity. At a minimum protect yourself with the Anti Oxidant supplements shown in the left column! Do NOT use aspartame a.k,a. Nutrasweet (avoid diet pop and other products containing this artificial sweetener) as its side effects can cause symptoms that mimic diabetic neuropathy and other diabetic complications. See my article entitled “Sweet Poison”. Dangers of using NSAIDsNSAIDs, both prescription and over the counter, can cause severe cardiovascular and neurological complications for anyone. In particular, NSAIDs should be avoided by persons with blood sugar problems and complications from diabetes. Large doses of Ultra Omega Linic will often be more effective at relieving pain than NSAIDs. It might take a while to achieve maximum pain relief. I have found Yucca, 2 of them 3 or 4 times per day (as needed) to be a very effective reliever of pain and an excellent alternative to NSAIDs.InflammationAn anti inflammatory for your consideration is InflamEase, which contains Burdock, BioVin and Pineapple.
Other SuggestionsMy protocol, “Eye Nutrition”, features our new supplement, Ultra-Vision. The protocol discusses nutritional ways to preserve vision in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic-related eye problems, such as retinopathy. The best way to control all the complications of diabetes is to control the blood sugar. The best way to do that is to follow the low carbohydrate lifestyle and provide maximum nutritional support. TYPE "III” DIABETESThis disease, newly recognized by some, is a condition where the brain loses its ability to utilize glucose as an energy source, and brain cells start to die. Fortunately, the brain cells can use ketones as an energy source. Mid chain fatty acids are normally metabolized to ketones, and are thought to prevent or delay problems such as dementia and Alzheimer’s.Mid chain fatty acids, such as those found in Coconut oil and Ultra Monolaurin, (a 90% pure distillate of coconut oil), are metabolized to ketones which the brain cells readily use for energy. This is thought to prevent the death of the neural cells caused by their inability to utilize glucose. |
